Pentik Owl updated for the 2020s: Limited edition available in the online store next week
Pentik, a Finnish interior design house known for its domestic ceramic items, is bringing an updated interpretation of its beloved 1970s owl back to sale as a requested re-release. On Thursday, April 29, at 8 AM, a new brood of ceramic, white and dark gray, Pentik Owls will flutter into Pentik's online store. The owls are available in a limited and numbered edition, a total of 300 products.
The Owl candle lantern first flew into Finnish homes about 50 years ago, when a small batch of owls designed by ceramic artist Henrik Allert, who was a guest at Pentik in Posio, was produced. Now, literally overnight, the owl has returned to production. The idea originated when social media influencer Stella Harasek shared a photograph of a 1970s owl sitting on the edge of her home's baking oven in Lapland on her channels and asked her followers if they would like to see the little charmer back in Pentik's selection. And they did!
- It is definitely the culmination of my influencer career that people got excited about the owl's return and that Anu Pentik took action that very night. The prototype of the new owl was ready before I had even finished my morning coffee. I appreciate Finnish ceramic craftsmanship and artistry, and I am very happy about the boost the owl has received, says social media influencer Stella Harasek.
- At Pentik, we want to inspire and also be inspired by consumer wishes, to live and create together. The request for the return of the small, twinkly-eyed owl to Posio got us excited and ready to roll up our sleeves. We believe in dreams and the courage to make them happen. This was also possible thanks to our own ceramic factory and our skilled workers, says Pentik's Marketing Director Minna Lampinen and continues:
- Soon, only a limited and numbered batch of owls flying from their nest will have been produced. I hope these owls, with a twinkle in their eyes, bring joy to their new homes for years to come. When handled with love, ceramics are eternal and last from generation to generation.
