Pentik-mäki Culture Centre

Welcome to Pentik-mäki

Pentik-mäki is a culture-filled tourist destination in Posio, right next to our ceramics factory. The buildings, connected by glass corridors, form a cohesive 2500 square meter complex with factory outlets, museums, exhibitions, and cafes. Pentik-mäki is accessible, with a disabled lift and accessible toilets available.
The factory outlet offers freshly-made finds, a wide selection of discontinued products, unique test batches from the ceramics factory, and II-grade ceramics. At Pentik-mäki, you can also discover treasures at the Pentik Vintage store, which sells Pentik ceramics from the 70s and 80s.
Admission is free everywhere.
Sustainable tourism and responsibility are an important part of the operations of Pentik-mäki Cultural Center. Our goal is to support the vitality of the region by creating jobs and well-being in the local area, and to offer our visitors experiences that support the environment and the cultural heritage of the area, now and in the future.

Anu Pentik Gallery

The facade of the Anu Pentik Gallery is adorned with a magnificent, eight-meter-high and twenty-meter-wide "Posion Voima" (Power of Posio) ceramic installation. The artwork was created strongly in the spirit of recycling, utilizing pieces of ceramic dishes broken during production. The gallery is dedicated to Finnish design and ceramic art. Free admission.

 

Museums

The Pentik Home Museum was founded in 1973, when it was still the home of Anu and Topi Pentikäinen. Pentik's ceramic production, store, and cafe operated in the same premises. Pentik-mäki also houses the "Memories from the Countryside" museum, the International Coffee Cup Museum, and an exhibition showcasing Pentik's leather clothing production. Admission to the museums is free.

 

Café

At the Pentik-mäki cafe, you can pause from your shopping and gallery tour to enjoy sweet pastries, savory treats, and refreshing drinks. The cafe has 50 seats and a summer terrace with 40 seats. The cafe operates during the same opening hours as the factory outlet.


Pentik Manor

When visiting Posio during the summer, we also recommend visiting Pentik Manor, which is located about a 20-minute drive from Pentik-mäki in the direction of Rovaniemi. Anu and Topi Pentikäinen renovated a reindeer farm over 150 years old from Timisjärvi to offer experiences in art and culture.

In summer 2026, Pentik Manor and Gallery House will be open to the public from June 19 to August 9. The summer café maintained by Korouoma Wilderness Cafe is open daily from 11 AM to 6 PM. The gallery features an exhibition by Anu Pentik, Reindeer of Timisjärvi.
