With its spring collection, the interior design lifestyle brand Pentik invites Finns to come alive. We live in the contrasting North, where the stark and harsh winter makes spring flowers even more beautiful and summer light even brighter. At Pentik, we believe that the beauty of nature should not end at the exterior walls of a home; instead, we want to bring nature indoors to delight even when the variable Northern weather is not at its best.

There are many reasons to celebrate spring, and as a strong expert in home decor and gifts, we want to be present in Finnish homes. Our spring collection brings the power of nature into homes, says Pentik's Director of Marketing and E-commerce, Heidi Silvennoinen.

Wildcat – Possibly the North’s only lynx that enjoys being indoors.
When moving through Finnish nature, it is extremely rare to encounter a lynx. But it is likely that a lynx has seen you. At home, the shy and silent prowler of the forests can become quite wild. It depends on how you use the pattern. The Wildcat creeps into homes, for example, in the form of home textiles, bedding, and bath products. The Wildcat pattern was designed by Lasse Kovanen.
Grain – Grain fields swaying in the wind. Packaged for home.
The ripe grain fields swaying in the wind at the end of summer are a hypnotic sight in the North. Now, the same experience can be brought home in the form of a refreshed classic pattern designed by Minna Niskakangas. The new dark Vilja (Grain) pattern is printed on high-quality natural-coloured half-linen fabric.
Bark – A tree you can hug.
It is said that hugging a tree improves well-being. As odd as it sounds. At home, you can now hug a tree hidden from others' view. And the hug is soft too. We distribute Kaarna (Bark) hugs as bedding and home textiles. The Kaarna pattern was designed by the talented Finnish designer Saara Obele.Sand – In the North, water is clean and skilled at drawing.
A beach day in the scorching North, by clear waters. A rare treat. The Hiekka (Sand) pattern, drawn by Minna Niskakangas, is a sight one can see on a sandy beach in ankle-deep water. The sand takes on a beautiful shape from the waves. Only the scent of sunscreen is missing. The Hiekka pattern shimmers on towels, pillowcases, and seat cushions.
Chip – Let the chip carry you.
Smoke drifting from the sauna chimney by the shore is as lazy as a summer Sunday evening. The lake is calm, and somewhere in the distance, a cuckoo calls. A hand-carved wood chip in the stove creates fire; in the pattern, the chip carries you into flying thoughts. The Lastu (Chip) pattern, drawn by Minna Niskakangas, is a sure choice for a summer dreamer. The new colouring of the Lastu pattern adorns, for example, the freshest toiletry bags of the summer.
Veranda – The North has four seasons. At home, you can choose your favourite.
In summer in the North, the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces blurs. The veranda door can remain open, and the summer breeze can creep into corners. Perhaps the boundary does not need to be so strict in other seasons either. This is ensured by the Veranta (Veranda) pattern, drawn by Lasse Kovanen, available for example as bedding, fabric, and decorative pillow covers.
Mint – Souvenirs from Paris
The Minttu (Mint) pattern is a souvenir that designers Minna Niskakangas and Lasse Kovanen brought back from their trip to Paris. Perhaps they saw mint growing in a small garden of a French café. We can only guess. The Minttu kitchen and home decor products, designed by Lasse Kovanen, bring a fresh touch to every home.
Water Lily – There's always time to observe the movements of a water lily.
Few of us have the opportunity in everyday life to sit by a water lily pond. And precisely for this reason, Minna Niskakangas captured the water lilies drifting in the wind for this summer pattern. Amidst the blue-green colouring, one can find glimpses of yellow, lilac, and pink nuances. The Lumme (Water Lily) pattern drifts into homes, for example, in the form of decorative pillows and fabrics.
Villa – Especially well-suited with the creak of a plank floor.
If one imagines a summer villa, it is made of wood, life there is light, and flowers always bloom. Now the same atmosphere can be created in a cottage, home, or villa. Even in November. Huvila (Villa) is a colourful pattern designed by Lasse Kovanen, which delights as fabric, tablecloth, and pillow cover.
Almond – Almond brings good luck.
The more almonds, the more good luck. Good luck can also be that the home's decor lifts your spirits. If so, then Minna Niskakangas's fun Manteli (Almond) pattern is loaded with luck. A lot of it. You can find the Manteli pattern in our selection as kitchen textiles.
Lavender – If you miss the Canary Islands.
Northern people bravely endure the long, dark winter. Especially if they visit the Canary Islands now and then. In addition to the Canary Islands, fragrant lavender is found naturally, for example, in Cape Verde. Both are places from which so many have sent a postcard expressing homesickness to November-time Finland. Feel – A joyful ceramic series full of Northern feeling.
This spring, Pentik is launching an entirely new, colourful ceramic series. The Tuntu (Feel) series, shaped by Northern nature and made by Northern people, is a colourful and joyful ode to the world's northernmost ceramic factory and the people in Posio, where the company wishes to continue producing all its ceramic products in the future. The stackable, easily combinable Tuntu ceramics consist of mugs and bowls and plates of various sizes. The series was designed by Tuuli Saarelainen. More information about this surprising ceramic series will be announced in December 2023, and the launch will take place in March 2024.
