Pentik's first sustainability report published, ambitious targets set for the coming years

Finnish interior design house Pentik has published its 2021 sustainability report. The family company's first sustainability report sheds light on the company's daily sustainability work and also outlines ambitious targets for the coming years. The new report provides information on the company's finances, products, staff well-being, and environmental work.

Responsibility and common sense have always been an integral part of Pentik's operations since its founding in the 1970s in Posio, amidst the northern nature. This has meant caring for people and ensuring Posio's vitality, as well as purposeful and efficient utilisation of materials. In 2021, Pentik started a more systematic sustainability effort and defined the company's sustainability themes as part of its sustainability strategy work.

"As a mother of three, I inevitably consider the mark my generation will leave on this world. Through my own actions, I want to support the biodiversity and habitability of our planet. I believe that companies also have a huge responsibility and, at the same time, an opportunity to act in a way that promotes young people's belief in a fair and successful working life. Belief in the future and dreams form the basis for solutions and decisions that mitigate climate change, as well as for an egalitarian, diverse, and entrepreneurial society," says Pentik CEO Riikka Wulff.

Pentik is committed to operating responsibly, transparently, and ethically. The company's sustainability work is encapsulated in three themes that align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. For Pentik, responsibility means caring for the environment, looking after people, and taking responsibility for products and the supply chain. Domesticity, northern roots, and local production are at the core of the values of this over 50-year-old family company. Pentik wants to cherish Finnish ceramic expertise to ensure that ceramic production can be maintained in Finland in the future.
