Bedding Buying Guide

Duvet covers instantly update the look of a bedroom and are often the most important element in creating the room's atmosphere. In addition to beautiful patterns, the materials of our bedding are also carefully considered. Our selection includes high-quality cotton and linen duvet covers and pillowcases that are comfortable and durable. We have compiled additional information on the properties of different materials on this page to help you choose your bedding.

Cotton Bedding

Cotton is a popular and always reliable choice for bedding. It is breathable and very durable. Pentik's bedding uses two different types of cotton: cotton sateen and percale cotton.

Cotton Sateen
Cotton sateen is slightly glossy and pleasantly smooth. It feels soft and luxurious on the skin. The name "sateen" comes from the way the cotton is woven, using a sateen weave. The result is a refined and beautifully glossy fabric. With its smooth surface and tight weave, cotton sateen does not shed much dust, making it an excellent choice for allergy sufferers. Ironing or calendering after washing helps to preserve and enhance the silky sheen of cotton sateen.Cotton sateen bedding is marked 100% cotton sateen in the product information.

Pioni bedding is made of cotton sateen.

Percale Cotton
Percale cotton is a densely woven, crisp and smooth fabric made from long-staple cotton. Familiar from hotel sheets, this material drapes airily on the skin, leaving air between the duvet cover and the skin, creating a cooling sensation. Luxuriously rustling percale cotton bedding is very durable. After washing, its wrinkles can be smoothed out by ironing or calendering.Percale cotton bedding is marked 100% percale cotton in the product information.

Laulujoutsen, Villikissa and Saaga bedding, as well as some of the Vilja bedding, are made of percale cotton. All children's duvet covers and pillowcases are also percale cotton.

Linen Bedding

Linen is a luxurious and durable natural material that breathes well, effectively wicks away moisture, and repels dirt. Practical linen duvet covers keep the skin pleasantly cool and dry on warm summer nights, and feel warm in the cold of winter. Linen fiber is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Linen has a lively and matte surface and does not pill. Its typical roughness softens with use and washing. Wrinkling is characteristic of linen, but it is easily smoothed out by ironing or calendering after washing. Linen duvet covers can just as well be left casually relaxed and slightly wrinkled.

Pentik's selection includes Soolo linen duvet covers and Ilta linen duvet covers.
