She doesn't draw or sketch much, but works directly with the material, clay. The sheer volume of work keeps her vibrant and leaves no room to wonder what to do next.

Lasse Kovanen designed the Haave pattern as a tribute to Anu Pentik and her life's work. It immortalizes Anu's iconic ceramic flower sculptures, whose colors are directly from the northern nature.

Sometimes design is done by paddling. Lohkare, voted Finland's most beautiful vase in August 2024, got its shape from an erratic boulder that designer Lasse Kovanen encounters every now and then in the Archipelago Sea. Lasse does not reveal Lohkare's exact location; the joy should remain for the finder.
