The power of northern nature in Pentik's autumn collections

Press release 28.4.2022

Pentik's autumn collection offers a wide range of intense colours and minimalist black and white designs for every room in the home

The power of northern nature and creation are strongly featured in the late summer and autumn collections of Pentik, a Finnish interior design house. Upcoming patterns include contemporary 1970s retro spirit, rich layering, luscious berry and flower motifs, and modern Scandinavian lines. New, luxurious bath products with neutral colours bring a spa atmosphere to your home or offer the opportunity to enjoy luxurious moments in nature. The new Tunturi candles from Posio candle workshop are like small grey natural stones, encouraging you to stop for a moment and enjoy the darkening autumn evenings.

In late summer, gardens and allotments burst into abundant floral displays. Autumn harvest season fruits and flowers such as artichoke, lavender, and fig will shine in Pentik's upcoming collections. Intense violet colours and large patterns offer beauty and a spectrum of colours for homes. The familiar black-and-white and Scandinavian, timeless aesthetic will also continue. The Tundra collection will be complemented by Spa products, and Pentik's beloved reindeer theme will expand with the new Tokka collection. Autumn products will gradually go on sale from July onwards, and new products will be showcased at the Naantali Housing Fair from 15.7. to 14.8.2022. Additionally, Pentik will have its own stand at the autumn Habitare Fair from 7. to 11.9.2022. Pentik will present the first taste of its delicious late summer and autumn product range at the Summer Days of the Interior Journalists Association in Billnäs on 7.6.2022.

"The most trendy autumn table settings glow in shades of violet, burgundy, and brown, familiar from the fashion world, spiced with deep green. These dark colours can be combined with wood, concrete, and other neutral shades. In home decor and table settings, the emphasis is on utilising different shades of the same colour, and the boldest set their tables around a single colour. For example, rowanberries and bright red are perfect for crayfish parties, and figs and various shades of purple come into their own at harvest festivals," says Pentik's Marketing and Communications Director Minna Lampinen.

The autumn collection originated from observing northern nature

Pentik's own designers, Lasse Kovanen and Minna Niskakangas, closely follow the changing seasons and delve into the different stages of plants, from seedling to bloom and wilting. The Finnish designers have captured, among other things, a secret garden seen on a jogging path, the life cycle of an artichoke grown on a desk, and a northern reindeer herd in the autumn collection.

"Autumn colours are deep and electrify the atmosphere. The season's hues are familiar to us from the flowers and plants in our gardens. I myself got excited about autumn by observing the growth of an artichoke and the contrast between its stark bud and striking flower. I worked on vibrant and modern floral patterns by painting clear strokes on fabric with a renovation brush and splattering paint into the centres of the flowers," describes Pentik designer Lasse Kovanen.

"My new patterns evoke a mysterious, darkening autumn atmosphere and richness of colour, but alongside abundance, clear graphic shapes also appeal to me. The minimalist black and white lines are particularly evident in the new, modern interpretation of our reindeer motif. The peaceful atmosphere of northern nature, rough stones, and resilient trees are also visible in our new bath collection," says Pentik designer Minna Niskakangas.

The modern and 1970s retro-inspired Fig pattern features traditional autumn delights – warm chestnuts, glowing red pomegranate flowers, and of course, sweet figs. TUNDRA SPA – EXPERIENCE THE REVITALISING POWER OF NORTHERN NATURE IN YOUR OWN HOME
Design: Minna Niskakangas

Inspired by the sparse vegetation of the north, the Tundra series is complemented by a versatile Spa collection. The collection features products made from the Tundra pattern, as well as monochromatic items for the sauna and bathroom. Materials include rough and soft surfaces, such as waffle fabric. The colour scheme is graphic and serene: dark grey, white, and beige. The luxury of Lapland also includes new natural soaps and refreshing room fragrances.

TOKKA – A NEW INTERPRETATION OF THE BELOVED REINDEER THEME
Design: Minna Niskakangas

The black and white Tokka collection's reindeer adorn modern homes. The collection represents Scandinavian minimalism and blends perfectly with the Tundra and Jäkälä collections, which are also inspired by northern nature. The collection includes home textiles and ceramic products.

TUNTURI – ROUGH STONE CANDLES FOR HOME AND TERRACE

Inspired by the rocky paths of Riisitunturi, these new candles, mimicking the rugged forms of nature, bring a touch of northern nature to your table setting. Manufactured in Posio, these candles can also be used on sheltered terraces to create an atmosphere on darkening autumn evenings.

The Artichoke and Rowanberry collections will go on sale starting July 7th. Sales for the Lavender, Fig, Tundra Spa collections, and Tunturi candles will begin in early August.
