The Anu Pentik Gallery at the Pentik-mäki Culture Centre opened its doors on Friday 12 June.
The Gallery’s facade features a stunning, eight-metre high and twenty-metre wide ceramic installation. Created very much in the ethos of recycling, the piece makes use of scraps of ceramic broken during production. The pieces of well-known and well-loved Pentik designs used to create the mosaic finish reflect the company’s history throughout the years.
Flowers’ Prayer
The gallery is scheduled to host bi-annual exhibitions. The first featured artist is the gallery’s founder Anu Pentik.
The Flowers’ Prayer exhibition seeks to inspire the visitors to take moment to think about the planet earth, the challenges it faces and how best to ensure that we can preserve it for the generations to come. The exhibition’s pièce de resistance calls on us all to love and cherish our shared world. The thousand ceramic flowers it features draw their inspiration from a summer meadow in bloom.
